Student Travel Discount
Student travel discount was very important to me when I was traveling as a student.
About two and a half years after immigrating solo to USA, I learned English enough to apply to University. I went to UCLA, which was a public school in Los Angeles, California. The parents of other students were sending their kids abroad after their graduate for the summer. I did not have any parents, but I wanted to live the American dream and to fit in in the society and to be no any different then any other kid around me. Yes, I also wanted to go abroad after the graduation!
Every penny counts when you are a student. Even thou, I had two jobs and a full academic scholarship, a dollar meant a lot to me. The student ID cost was $5.00 and I bought it. Even till these days $5.00 is a lot of money to me. I went to the travel agent near by, in Westwood, and booked my summer stay in Paris. I saw The Louvre, the Eiffel tower, some gargoyles, went to the hot French “deep-house-music” clubs, met locals, went after hours and woke up in South of France, but it would be the whole another story, … any how…
I got a student discount on the hotel and flight. I remember the feeling that went through my entire body, as I was pulling out my student ID out of my green & dusty backpack.
From the day one as I started to run Vacation Rentals in Florida and North Carolina, I was specially accommodating to all the students that reach out to me. I remember what it was like, when I was starting my life.

STUDENTS: We a group of very mature and responsible students and most of us are 18 years of age. What is the minimum age of renters?
ELLA: I have no minimum requirements, as long as non of you needs a babysitter, you are in!
(note: a word “mature” always included)
STUDENTS: We are ready to give you all cash damage deposit or double it. Are you willing to rent it to us over a Spring break?
ELLA: No need to double or cash, enjoy your spring break. I was a student myself.
(note: I always purchased a new set of dishes after each spring break, and always return a damage deposit in full. Enjoy your life, kids!)
STUDENTS: So, what is the deal with the damage deposit?
ELLA: You will get it back in full, most likely.
STUDENTS: Can my mother call you?
ELLA: Always! I am happy to talk to all the parents.
STUDENTS: How can we pay you?
ELLA: The payment is due upon the reservation and in full. I have many options available and most of them are very modern and easy to do.
