In October the dry season sets in across much of Florida and lasts until late April in most years. On average, Florida has some of the mildest winters in the United States. Florida reports more thunderstorms than any other US state. Some places report in excess of 90 thunderstorm days per year, making Florida one of the most thundery regions outside of the tropics. Cold weather in Florida is fleeting, it never lasts more than a few days, and there is not a “winter” in the sense that it will be cold for an extended period of time.
