Reality Life of Property Manager

So what is the reality life of property manager, the vacation rental specialist to be more exact.  Today, I was responding to the review on AirBnb, which is one of my favorite taste to do.  It helps me to understand if I did my job well and if so how well.  Truth to be told, I do not consider my day-to-day management as a job. After traveling the world, my best intent is that non of my guest will go not even close to the “hell” that I went thought, using the private accommodations.  Many times, I was left on my own without any owner or manager help, just beaches the office or an individual were are not available during the entire length of the weekend.  Thus, I thought it is my duty is to provide an excellent service.  I wanted to be remembered by every guest, and only from the good side.  I treat my guest as if they were my own family or close friends.
Today, I was responding to Norman’s review, which was in German. ( I get a lot of reviews written in foreign languages ) I am very happy that the guest are feeling comfortable enough with me to communicate in their own language. I be honest here that communication in Japanese was a bit challenging for me. I wanted to be sure that I can accommodate each guests’ requests at the best of my capacity, and solve they problems.

Here are some of them:
GUEST: One of the reviews stated: ” Future guests BE AWARE that there are mosquitoes flying right by the entrance door.  We know that Ella is not responsible for their presence, but she should have disclosed it to us”
ME: No response (Saying to myself, it is Florida!) #mosquitoes #commonthing
GUEST: The color of the white sand was a shade of as it was shown on the picture.
ME: OK
GUEST: I am reserving a place for my 89 year old mother.  May I get a full refund, in the event if she dies prior the vacation.
ME: Obviously.
Lastly, here is the story about Norman.  His group and him checked out, but left every thing behind, scuba gear, fine chocolates, etc. The cleaning crew assumed that he did not move out and was patrolling outside for two days to see if he comes back to get his stuff and assumable check out.  Later, it was learned that the guest from the abroad just could not physically take it all on the plane.  Meanwhile, I felt personally responsible for the guest disappearance, knowing that half of them I recommend to go to everglades.  As the time has passed, I was picturing my guest to be attacked and dated by the alligator, or taken deep into the sea by the sharks.  I was waking up at night, hoping that my guest were alive.  Later, I got a note from him telling of how wonderful the stay was. Ahh, . .
Thank you for writing the reviews. I know those are honest. It tell me how well I do my job. Reality Life of Property Manager is that is the most appreciative job, to make every one smile, to learn about their story and be a problem solver. I still think about about the group of thirsty mosquitos bothering my guests! I care, I worry . . I love make your stay happy.
Thank you all my guest to keep my life interesting.  It is truly a pleasure to learn a bit info about each of you, it is a pleasure to accommodate . . .  I would not be me without you my adventurers, explores and dreamers.
Thank you !
Ella
